We want to see today’s generation on fire with purpose, positioned to live out their calling, and prepared to step into the life God has for them. We’re all about empowering women through The Brave & Beautiful Experience, whether it’s a girls home in Honduras or a high school in Houston. We are passionate about seeing women learning to live, love and lead courageously.

About Brave & Beautiful

“Brave & Beautiful” is a universal message to women challenging them to pursue lives that are full of courage and character, while embracing their God-given femininity and developing Christ-centered inner beauty.

The name “Brave & Beautiful” came to founder Annie McLean in a dream while trying to name her team’s first-ever young women’s conference — which just happened to be in Nairobi, Kenya.

Through a creative blend of heartfelt testimony, talented performances, and relevant teaching, Brave & Beautiful is passionate about raising up a generation of young women who know who they are and what they’re called to while becoming the real influencers of tomorrow.

About Us

Yup, you guessed it: we’ve known each other for awhile. We are friends; Maddie, Michaela and Janeshka grew up together. We are family; Annie is Michaela’s mom and second mom to Maddie and Nesh. We are artistic ambassadors for Christ; from choreography to captions, we’re all about creating our own stuff. We are sisters, teammates, dancers, singers, and participants in epic God adventures that take us all over the world. But when it comes to “Brave & Beautiful,” we are one. We are girls who “get” girls. We share a heart to see today’s generation of women rejecting the lies fed to them through social media, unhealthy relationships, dead-end mindsets and serving the “idols” of the surrounding culture. We believe God is raising up a network of women relentlessly pursuing freedom and fiery faith, women of passion and purpose who know Jesus has made them “Brave & Beautiful” from the inside out.

The Faces Behind Brave & Beautiful

Annie McLean

Founder, Creative Director & Speaker

Annie is a four-girl mom, writer, speaker, and dreamer. In 2012, she founded 3D Missions, an international outreach organization dedicated to spreading the Gospel through the performing arts. For over two decades, Annie has served on mission teams as a performer, worshiper, playwright and team leader. In 2016, she dreamt the name "Brave & Beautiful" while praying about an upcoming 3D Missions' girls conference in Kenya. Annie holds a journalism degree from Oral Roberts University, studied organizational leadership at Palm Beach Atlantic University, and is a published songwriter with Integrity Music.

A mom of four girls and one of three sisters, Annie knows firsthand the challenges today’s women face. She is passionate about envisioning a generation for the Lord that is focused, fearless and fruitful in their faith.

Michaela McLean

Co-Founder, Dancer & Speaker

Michaela is an award-winning dancer, motivational speaker, performing arts missionary, and oldest of four sisters. Michaela won the title of Miss Florida 2019 and placed Top 15 at Miss America 2020. During her year of service, she shared the message of “Brave & Beautiful: Breaking Free from Behind the Screen” to 40+ schools and churches across Florida and reached over 15,000 people. She established scalable partnerships for Brave & Beautiful with Media Literacy Now, University of Florida Department of Education, and the Federal Trade Commission to advocate for young women’s social media literacy.

Michaela graduated with degrees in dance and public relations from the University of Alabama, where she served for two years as the campus-wide Bible study leader for Delight, a nationwide college ministry in the U.S.

Michaela encourages young women to develop healthy habits from the inside out while understanding the transformational significance of a purpose-driven life. She has a passion to empower young women to stand for their faith in a secular society and model lives that reflect the image of Christ.

Maddie Park

Dancer & Speaker

Maddie is a talented dancer, choreographer, and experienced international performing arts missionary. Dancing since the age of four, Maddie has won numerous dance awards throughout her career and performed on the prestigious “Golden Girl” dance team at Florida State University. Besides serving as the community service coordinator and team chaplain, Maddie was also actively involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Florida State. Maddie is recently married and lives in Lakeland, FL where she attends Southeastern University to obtain her Master’s in Ministerial Leadership.

Maddie’s testimony of rejecting the world’s lies and finding security in Christ is a relevant message of hope and encouragement to young women everywhere feeling “less than” and “left out.”

Janeshka Nieves

Worship Leader, Dancer & Speaker

Janeshka is an up-and-coming actress, dancer and singer currently using her talents both professionally and in ministry. Employed as a performer with the Walt Disney World Company, Janeshka has also been a featured performer with the Orlando Repertory Theatre and Orlando Shakespeare Theatre. Janeshka serves on the worship team at her local church, and has also served on international performing arts mission teams for over seven years as a worshiper, actress and singer.

Janeshka has a passion to see the women of her generation set free from guilt and shame of the past and moving forward in a vibrant love relationship with Jesus. Her message of wholeheartedness and surrender to the Lord will help women today step into their God-given destinies.
